'Ere, you'll never guess what!? I knew the football score on Tuesday, the Arsenal v Southampton game. It is a rare occasion that I am in possession of such information and even rarer that I care but being in the Platform Tavern www.platformtavern.com when Southampton are playing at home meant the place was jumping with football fans at the beginning and end of the evening. It was our annual outing to Bob Long's www.bobalong.co.uk jam as his special guests. There were some lovely guitarists on before us and then at about ten past ten we went on and did a set to the lovely crowd that had gathered to witness the event. 

I'd had practically no sleep on the Monday night, so had been getting by on adrenaline all day at work. A colleague, who was in a similar predicament, and I had been laughing, a little hysterically, at lunchtime when I'd compared how I was feeling to being in a computer game. Each time my energy levels sapped I somehow managed to 'level up' and find some more reserves from somewhere. It was a seriously fun day, partly due to the strange sleepless hysteria that had overtaken me but also due to the company I was fortunate enough to keep on that day! Any worries I had about getting through the evening were banished as yet more reserves arrived from somewhere. I did sleep well once I got home though!
