The band at the Golden Lion, Southwick Views: 5393
We were released into the community on Tuesday evening for the first of a regular gig at the Golden Lion in Southwick. Walker Broad + Guests will hopefully become a regular monthly event in that most beautiful of pubs. It took my breath away when I walked in and I really really didn't want to leave at the end of the evening! This gig was just us and we played two sets to an appreciative crowd. I really enjoyed the gig, kept losing myself in the music which makes it special for me. It was really clear which songs we know best as they were tight as a boxers butt and that has come about from recording mainly. Playing them over and over till the kinks get ironed out. This can only get better as the other songs join the ranks and hopefully we can record the album before the year is out - watch this space on that one!
We are back there on the 22nd of Nov and have already invited a sax player who lives across the road from the pub to come and join us for a couple of numbers next time. I would really recommend the venue, it has a lovely menu and the ambience of the place is second to none. Greg, lovely landlord, is really welcoming too and adds the finishing touch to a terrific night out. With Walker Broad too, what more could you ask for!? If you fancy a night out and a bit of a play with us please email to let us know if there's something special you'd like to do or else just turn up on the night and we'll see where we can fit you in!
