Scattering the roots on Express fm for Shep Woolley's Xmas special Views: 5512
Anyone with taste within tuning distance of a radio was, of course, listening to Shep Woolley's http://www.shepwoolley.co.uk/ Xmas special earlier this evening. This is the second year we have been privileged to be guests on the celebratory special and it was a very riotous affair. The studio was fair heaving with local celebs old and new and it was much fun indeed. Among the other guests were The Shantymen http://www.shanty.co.uk/Pompies/biography.htm who filled the studio with their rich tones and I am quite sure any one of them could handle a schooner! Also present was Herbie Armstrong http://www.herbiearmstrong.com/ who told a fine tale as well as singing a fine song! One of our favourites Wood, wire and Words http://www.woodwireandwords.com/ were also there although we weren't able to stay and see them play. That is too often the way it works out with them. Love listening to them but always seem to have something else to do when they are on! Last time we were on the same bill we had another gig to go to so couldn't stay and see them. Bummer! There were loads of other acts, too many for my small brain to remember the names, so apols to those I haven't mentioned.
We did two songs, Pissing in the Dark and Undeserver. I didn't cart the keys in there, which is just as well due to the amount of people present! Just acoustic guitar and vocals. The effect was interesting and as always, alot was learnt for next time. As expected Shep kept a tight ship with cabin boy Dan Ogus close by to keep the crew in order! Well, hope you are all having a splendidly fabulous Xmas and don't suffer too much from over imbibing!
Much love as 2011 speeds to it's end xxxx
