fighting with the fairies at the Golden Lion and Piranha Bar Views: 5046

I looked like I'd been fighting with the fairies when WB stepped out on Tuesday for our usual monthly flirt with the lovely people of Southwick at the Golden Lion. I had decided a bit of body glitter was required but didn't adjust for the fact that the heat meant that my newly washed skin was already sweaty, so all glitter stuck immediately and normal dustings would, in fact, become extraordinarily over the top resulting in my looking something akin to a rather overgrown Tinkerbell. Despite the glare the gig went well and the audience were wonderful as always, especially the landlord who did a few little boogies behind the bar here and there. SmileWednesday we were out at the Piranha Bar in Hayling Island again, it is a great space to play in, so much room. The audience are varied, but there were quite a lot of people who came just to hear the music and there is one particular couple who sit quite a way away but were there last time, who look like they are having such a wonderful time and clearly love what we do. It is lovely to play for them! The audience participation on both nights was great!

The only thing missing from these gigs was the lovely drummer man. Andy, Si and I managed valiantly without him although we may have had a somewhat erratic groove at times! I don't think I would be giving anything away by saying he is preparing for the Olympic opening ceremony tomorrow night where he is performing, in costume, with others of his ilk (drummers I mean here in case of query Wink). Needless to say I will be glued to the telly tomorrow night, very unusual for me, looking for a glimpse of Blackie drumming. I wonder what he'll be wearing!?!?!?!?!
