As the coronavirus spreads it's going to be harder and harder for us musicians to make a living so if you have enjoyed the content of this blog or some of my videos or enjoyed my gigs in the past please consider making a donation, "every little helps" as a certain supermarket likes to say and would much appreciated!

Isolating With Some Blues In The Garden

This Thursday I was planning to play at "Belgium & Blues" in Southampton, to help out another guitar player, Glen Wright who was unable to make it due to an illness. Frustratingly at the weekend I started show mild symptoms of the dreaded lurgy that's gong round, you may have heard mention of it on the news, so instead of playing an extra gig I'm having to do the self isolate thing instead.

My partner Tracey also has it (a little worse than me but still not too nasty) so we are staying at hers in Waterlooville. Much nicer than being locked away in my flat! (both for the surroundings and the company!).

As well as getting on with some website updates and other technical stuff I've decided to get a few more acoustic guitar blogs going and here is the first, a short performance from the garden, could have been sunnier but at least the rain held off!

In the video I perform a funky arrangement of Howlin Wolfs "Ain't Superstitious", and a more Robert Johnsonesque slow blues. Hope you enjoy!:

So far haven't had many formal cancellation of gigs but as things progress I'm not optimistic so more video blogs to come as this may be my main musical outlet for while!
