Back in blogging business and new music for your earholes. Views: 4722

Hello!! It's been a while. Over a year to be a bit more precise! Time has flown and Walker Broad have continued to travel the world (bit grand, mainly bits of Europe...well France and the UK Cool) bringing our own brand of blues folk jazzy music to the hoards. I have finished my studies now so have no excuses for not blogging on a regular basis again, I intend to add a decidely mental health tinge to the blogs too. Not all of them but I want to incorporate even more the worlds in which I exist as a mental health academic, professional, musician and person with challenges all my own. I hope that sits ok with you all.

So first on the agenda are the two new songs uploaded recently. We've been recording some new demo material to give venues a better idea of the material we do most these days. You will find 'Big Yellow Taxi' there for your listening pleasure (hopefully) I am a mad keen Joni fan so I hope I have begun to do this one justice, it is very hard to sing but I always love doing it and audiences like to join in too. always good. The second song in 'Shadowed Land' a folky tune we've been gigging over the last 18 months or so. It is probably my favourite song, the lyrics are about my eventual emergence from the pain of relationship ruination after nearly 7 years (at time of writing) and the music, penned by Andy fits the melody really well. My absolute favourite thing about the whole song is the final chord. Love it!

Today is also the 5th anniversary of the release of our first, and so far only, album. We still gig a few of the songs on the album, particularly the final song which is our traditional closing number. It is still available for sale should you feel inclined and we are thinking about doing a crowdfunder to fund the next album which has been ready to record for about the last 2 years!! More on that another time.

So that's it for now except to say please do come and see us at our next gig on the 1st November at Lymington Folk Club, It is a fully acoustic gig, except a tiny bit of amplification for Si (bass) so you get to see us raw and me, exceptionally nervous without any props or keys Cry Hope to see you there!

Much love, Sandy xx
